 Wedding Painting FAQs

  • I can paint any part of the day you want me to! First look portraits, the ceremony exit, and the first dance are most common. I will typically work from photos I take of the moment you are looking for, allowing me to set up anywhere that makes sense according to your wedding floor plan.

  • Yes for an additional fee.

  • Of course! I'd love to capture your special event! Whether its an anniversary, christening, birthday, book launch, graduation etc live painting will add lots of charm to your special day! Inquire above!

  • My process is to paint from observation without fabricating a new scene. However, I can sometimes make very slight changes.

  • When we have our initial consultation, I'll ask for your top three priorities, and will design the painting around those. It can be anything: you, a couple of people, the venue windows, etc.

  • I only guarantee the bride and groom's faces, but I may be able to include additional faces on a case by case basis.

  • The day of your wedding, I'll start with a blank sheet of watercolor paper and the goal is to finish during your wedding. I'll then take it back to the studio for minor touch-ups if needed.

  • I like to take the painting home and look at it in natural daylight and determine if any minor touchups need to be made. If you’ve purchased copies or thank you cards I also take pictures to create the copies. The painting and any copies or cards are shipped 2-4 weeks after your wedding.

  • All originals are carefully wrapped in protective paper and plastic. They're then packed into a sturdy box with plenty of padding to ensure it arrives intact to your door.

  • Shipping is covered in the package!

I ship via USPS, FedEx, or UPS, and work arrives 2-4 days from ship date.

  • As a professional artist, I take great care to ensure best practices for producing a permanent painting that can be handed down for generations.

I use museum-quality and lightfast Winsor and Newtown Professional Series Watercolor paint, both excellent quality and long lasting.

Watercolor is a delicate medium and if you have the piece framed by me I have it framed behind Museum quality glass to help keep the piece from fading.

Keep your painting hung away from harsh sunlight. Even with lightfast, high-quality paints. Keeping it away from the sun is a way to ensure your heirloom will last for years!

  • Yes, I can have it framed for an additional fee.

  • Expect your notecards to arrive 2-3 weeks following your wedding day.

  • The wedding is simply the landscape I paint, but the piece originates and ships from Guilford County, so I am required by local tax laws to charge a 6.75% sales tax.

  • I typically paint in a dressy black dress or dressy jumpsuit. I sometimes add an apron.

  • I can tighten or loosen my own style, and emphasize certain color palettes, but I cannot attempt the style of another artist.
